Today’s prompts at Three Word Wednesday are
Fickle
Sparkle
Wrinkle
cross the bridge
it grows
sparkles
sizzles
hisses
flesh yearns as
breath quickens
muscles tremble & belly
burns
brow wrinkles at
every turn…
love is cruel
life is kind
the heart keeps the
flame alive
the body is
a fickle tool
eternal journey, memory’s fool
Whoosh, great stuff here. Lively and alive.

I do love the poem itself, but I’m failing to grasp the title’s meaning. I have an idea, but I don’t think I’m on the right track.

qb, I’m so sorry for your loss. K touched us all one way or another but she will not keep us down! NOLA is the only city for me, warts and all!

pjd: honestly, the title came from the thesaurus. I was looking for an alternative word for “anticipate” and “cross the bridge” was a listed synonym. Go figure. It just fit.

Very nice. I especially liked the last line: “eternal journey, memory’s fool”. I’m not sure what it means (not feeling very clever today) but I do like it.
