Our Rose of Sharon purchased in love's long daylight binds us together

Mark of Naturalist Weekly invites us to write a haiku about a flower that is currently blooming in our area. Rose of Sharon (Hibiscus syriacus) is actually a bushy shrub but the flowers are amazing and it blooms its little heart out for months. It’s a popular plant in the South.
Do pop over to Naturalist Weekly for the current post about Irises and some lovely Haiku translations as a bonus. Gardeners and poets, you’ll love it!

Hi Charlotte, Thanks so much for joining the conversation! I also really appreciate the information about the Rose of Sharon. Very interesting that it is a member of the Hibiscus family.

I lived one place with a Rose of Sharon tree in the back. It bloomed all summer, a delight. (K)

This one is fairly new – second summer. We had a pink single in the back yard for years but it finally got shaded out and didn’t survive a freeze.

A lovely flowering of your garden Charlotte. Think I had a plant like that once upon a time but an unseasonable cold snap ended the plant. Thanks for the view.
