Tea x 2
As he raised the tea cup to his lips
I thought how incongruous it looked
in his weatherbeaten hand, fragile
vessel dotted with roses & ivy
and a handle too small for his finger.
But, oh, how gently he cradled it
in his palm, how gently his eyes
met mine.
Thanks to artist Gaynor Kane for this lovely photograph and to Paul Brookes of The Wombwell Rainbow for this prompt.
This tells such a lovely story.
