A Hundred Kinds of Flowers: A Cento
Break open
and never close again.
Every morning I want to
kneel down, still
in love with life, the piece
of God that is inside
of each of us.
I don’t know exactly what
a prayer is, I do know how
to pay attention. If
it is your nature to be happy
you will swim away, your
imagination alighting
everywhere.
Cento created from the following Mary Oliver poems:
- Lead
- On Thy Wondrous Works I Will Meditate
- Self-Portrait
- The Summer Day
- Morning Poem
- Franz Marc’s Blue Horses
- Title from 1945-1985: Poem for the Anniversary

This is so lovely. Her words carry in many contexts.
