I’ve been enjoying the Thursday Doors photo challenge for several years via Manja, my online friend. Manja is a wonderful photographer based in Italy by way of Slovenia and her posts are so interesting. In addition to photos, she writes about her life which includes her dog, Bestia, poetry, and posts great music videos. Well, you know I love dogs, photography, poetry, and music (especially Pearl Jam, our mutual obsession!) so I am besotted.
But today I followed links back to the originator of Thursday Doors, Norm, and was delighted by his photos of Italy. Ah, Italy! How I’d love to visit her. Since it’s a dreary, grey day in New Orleans and I’m being lazy, I thought I’d post a door photo. I chose this one of a local business on Magazine Street for its cheery red door. This was taken some years ago when I bought a few pieces of garden art there. I’m pining for spring and planning some changes to my garden. I’m thinking a visit back to Old World soon is in order.
Here are a few pics of the beautiful and unusual art they have for sale.
Welcome to the addictive world of Thursday doors!

Welcome to #ThursdayDoors! This is a lovely find.
I do hope to get back to New Orleans with my camera someday, there’s so much beautiful old architecture I’d love to capture. I was there back in ’96 long before I got into photography.

Thanks, Norm! Yes, I love to photo the architecture here, in particular. I haven’t been able to get out and do that in quite a while but I’m hoping to get back to it this year.

I followed a blog (she no longer blogs) who used to participate in the Thursday doors, too. This shop looks like such a fun place, and that bright red door is very cheerful.
