I will never,ever,ever

have a tidy coffee table like you see in those chichi design magazines. Mine is always covered with books, magazines, DVD’s, CD’s, iPad, journal and, at various times, dog biscuits, remote controls, plates of crumbs and cups of half-finished tea. I love the minimal look of a coffee table with only an object or two but that will never happen here for more than a few minutes when I dust and put things away. Wherein I Thank Everybody

2014 was a really good writing year for me. I reached a couple of loose goals I set for myself and was on the receiving end of some unexpected surprises. Out of 17 submissions I had 9 acceptances and 8 rejections (one of which asked for a more fleshed out second draft but I was in a slump at the time and never resubmitted – my bad.) plus I had 4 solicited publications so that’s a total of 13 actual publications of 15 poems and micro-fictions. Morning Meditation 12/15/14: Chunks of Heaven

This morning when I checked my email I had two poems about heaven there. I subscribe to a few poet’s blogs, to Poets.org’s Poem a Day, and to Rattle’s Daily Poem. I thought, out of all the sites I read and all the poet’s that write poems, it was interesting that two poems were about heaven on the same day. “Houdini” is live!

I am crazy-happy to be a part of Literary Orphans new issue, “Houdini”. The Editor, Mike Joyce, and his staff put out a unique zine full of fiction, non-fiction, poetry, art, and interviews.
