Photo Friday: Sammy soaks up some D

I think dogs are the most amazing creatures; they give unconditional love. For me, they are the role model for being alive.”

It’s been a cold few days and nights in New Orleans. Temps have dropped as low as 21 and stayed below freezing. We’re not used to this cold and ice in the land of palm trees and gulf breezes. And I, for one, don’t like it. My garden is dotted with dead plants and the yard cats hunker down in their cat (dog) houses, snuggling into electric blankets. (Yes, I’m that lady.) The city’s been pretty well shut down by icy streets and boil water advisories. Fortunately, I live in the one little slice of the city unaffected by the water issue and I’m so thankful. Yesterday Sammy, above, found a small shaft of sunshine coming through the window and plopped himself right in it. Isn’t he adorable? We’ve had a tiny taste of what cabin fever might be like and it’s not fun. Today the temps are supposed to be back in the 40’s. I never imagined I’d consider that warm.

I want my NOLA back! 🌞🌴☀️
