Haibun: Eggs with Pesto and Goat Cheese

Almost every morning as I’m drinking my coffee and before I begin my daily chores, I look through the internet for poetry to read. Recently, I read a poem by my friend and stellar poet, Robert Okaji, titled “Because You Cook”. Wow, did that poem ever make my mouth water! Don’t you love poems about food? I think it’s right up there with my favorite subjects for poems. Instantly, I began craving an omelette, which I rarely make, but it was raining and I was too lazy to brave it to go cut some fresh basil. Sunshine

I was recently nominated for a Sunshine Blogger award by Nick at Fifty Words Daily. It’s been a long time since I’ve been nominated for a blogging award. Hot Reads: Lists & Blueberry Cobbler

Here are a few cool things I’ve read this week and I’m just realizing several are actual lists by other people. Great! That means you have a galaxy of stories to read. Women’s History Month is marching right along and Change Seven Magazine has given us this gem:  “7 Reads We Recommend: Women’s History Month” by Laurel Dowswell and Emily Ramsey. I’m slowly savoring these sweet nuggets. Also in Change Seven, “Distracted by Life” by Sandy Ebner is a frightening account of living with ADHD and how she found light at the end of that dark tunnel. A fascinating read. “Just … Continue reading Hot Reads: Lists & Blueberry Cobbler
